IRC channel of Ragnarok Online Oskom Server.

For the purpose of real-time communication between RO Oskom players there exists IRC Server.
Server: irc.hippo.ru alternative irc.nov.ru
Port: 6667
Channel: #oskom

Why we have chosen IRC?
Firstly because the speed of communication via IRC is more rapid than via Web-chat or other types of chats. The messages are delivered almost instantly after you’ve created them! Secondly because IRC is almost not using your PC resources! You can play RO and chat in parallel without any harm to the game process (connection).

What you require for that?
You can use gateway http://irc.nov.ru (Channels: #oskom), but it will be better if you download a special programme for chatting. One of the most widely spread IRC clients is a programme mIRC that you can freely download from http://www.mirc.com/ or from http://www.xchat.org/.

How to configure the program and to connect to the channel?
After mIRC startup you will see a window " mIRC Options ". On the left you will find “Settings categories” (Options). We will drive your attention only on necessary settings. Choose category “Connect” (it is opened just after you load “Options”) and complete the fields with below information:

Full Name: Your full name (only Latin alphabet is allowed)
E-Mail Address: Your E-mail address
Nickname: Your nickname (only Latin alphabet is allowed).
Alternative: alternative to your nickname (if your chosen nick is already occupied this one will be in use). Then press “Add” button and you will see a new window "mIRC Add Server" - complete the fields with the following:
Description: Oskom IRC
IRC Server: irc.hippo.ru
Port(s): 6667
Fields Group and Password should be left blank. Press “Add” button. If you are connected via Firewall you have to choose in category “Connect” the sub-category “Firewall” and to complete the required fields. Now press “Connect to IRC Server”. If everything is successful you will see a “welcome message” of IRC server. After it on the screen a window "mIRC Channels Folder" will appear. Enter #oskom in it. If the window did not appear in “Status” window type /join #oskom
